Accounting Manager - General Accounting

Description

We are looking for a talented Accounting Manager – General Accounting to join our team specializing in purchasing for our corporate business in Indianapolis, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Oversee highly specialized accounting work to maintain the department’s general ledger, resolving complex accounting issues from both routine and non-routine transactions.

  • Manage a team of accountants and/or complex processes involving multiple external departments.

  • Ensure timely recording, analyzing, and reporting of accounting transactions.

  • Review general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and prepare internal and external reports, schedules, and statements.

  • Respond to inquiries from management, internal and external auditors, and the Sarbanes-Oxley audit group regarding financial results and special reporting requests.

  • Regularly review and develop internal controls, implementing new standards as necessary.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures.

  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.

  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Proven track record in identifying and leading complex accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.

  • Understanding of key accounting standards and their application.

  • Experience with stakeholder management across functional and business unit lines.

  • Experience with general accounting across distribution and manufacturing on a global scale.

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or similar certification required.

  • Significant experience required, including supervisory experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

Base salary range: $100,000 - $150,000

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
