We are looking for a talented Material Handler to join our team for our location in York, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • To perform all Material Handling functions for the Kitting, Dressed Axle, or Break areas as assigned. Adhere to all inventory control procedures/guidelines.

  • Adhering to all work instructions and inventory control responsibilities as needed.

  • Meeting all site attendance expectations.

  • Being an active and engaged participant in the site CI efforts, including employee suggestion implementation and active participation in PIE events.

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping at all times.

  • Perform a variety of functions daily as required to assist throughput.

  • Review and adhere to safety policies and procedures including proper lifting, driving, handling and storage procedures.

  • Must be able to work required overtime as scheduled.

  • Job function may require candidate to train new employees.

  • Deliver job materials to various work stations before required time to ensure no loss of time and maximum efficiency at work stations.

  • Place received materials into proper storage destinations by examining receiving documents and transporting materials to proper locations.

  • Assure operators can safely pull and utilize materials by placing them in the work area.

  • Move inventory throughout the warehouse for the purpose of managing inventory and replenishing picking locations.

  • Remove incoming shipped materials from delivery vehicles by using forklifts.

  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.

  • Resolve work related issues by communicating with other material handlers, operators, and supervisors.

  • Load pallets on trucks per load sheet and create appropriate shipping documents if required.

  • Properly mark moved materials by following standard operating procedures.

  • Charge lifts and fuel gas operated trucks by following work instructions.

  • Determine usage, location, and inventory control by operating computers per SOPs.

  • Document that materials were placed into proper location by entering data into computer or onto appointed schedules as required.

  • Open containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools.

  • Read pick orders to assure proper picks are being made.

  • Must be able to maintain forklifts by performing maintenance check list responsibilities.

  • Record the number of units of materials pulled from central stores and be able to add and deduct counts from computer per standard operating procedure.

  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

  • 6 Months previous experience with Material Handling and line side delivery.

  • Previous PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicles) experience preferred.

  • Lifting and carrying parts up to forty (40) pounds up to ten (10) hours per day.

  • Grasping and moving parts of various size up to ten (10) hours per day.

  • Walking and standing up to ten (10) hours per day.

  • Repeated bending, twisting, stooping several hours per day.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in either a group setting or individually.

  • Ability and willingness to operate necessary equipment.

  • Ability to work 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:20 PM (M-F)

  • Overtime as business requires. (Some Saturdays & Holidays)

  • Pay starting at $17.00/HR $0.50/HR Shift Differential

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
