This is an exciting opportunity in Summerville, SC for an Operations Manager.

  • Cummins focuses strongly upon safety in all aspects of our operations. The successful candidate must likewise consider safety as paramount and demonstrate a substantial awareness of work place safety and environmental knowledge.

  • Responsible for overall management of the parts and service departments

  • Manages the Managers of Engine Service, Power Generation & Parts

  • Responsible for setting and meeting/exceeding goals of each department

  • Managing the Profit & Loss statements for the branch

  • Builds relationships with customers and electrical contractors attending meetings and site visits as required

  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory to ensure that the needs of customers are met and products are shipped to the customer as per customers’ specifications

  • Ensure that quality service is received by our customers

  • Ensure that only products that meet or exceed the Company’s specifications for quality are sourced, where possible, from ISO 9000 registered suppliers

  • Responsibility includes the disposition of non-conformances, corrective and preventive actions and appropriate record keeping in parts and service

  • Meets sales and expense budgets for the Parts and Service departments

  • Supervise parts and service employees ensuring that annual Individual Development Planning sessions are conducted with each employee, and that required training s delivered to employees

  • Creates, maintains and promotes a safe clean workplace.

  • 20-25% travel may be required for training and/or conferences, customer interaction.

Qualifications

Skills, Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. MBA a big plus!

  • 5 years’ experience in related industry with managing or leading an office/branch with a diverse employee workforce.

  • Cummins product knowledge highly preferred.

  • Fluency in English & Spanish (bi-lingual) a big plus.

  • Technical/mechanical competence; knowledge of the industry and warranties

  • Experience managing a P&L for a branch/office preferred.

  • Sales experience a plus

  • Strong computer aptitude and knowledge (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, BMS, Excel,etc.)

  • Applicant must be self-motivated and have excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal & leadership skills with a focus on safety.

  • Must be customer service focused and be a team player

  • Have the ability to work flexible hours

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
