This is an exciting opportunity in Stoughton, Wisconsin for a Data Analyst.Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Lead Engineering Central data improvement activities to support daily product release operations.

  • Identify data or system related issues to repair or improve.

  • Conduct queries and export data from repositories.

  • Review and filter exported spreadsheets for missing, inconsistent, or incorrect data.

  • Work with subject matter experts to populate or correct data.

  • Update spreadsheets with data corrections.

  • Coordinate data improvements with IT to update repositories.

  • Submit application or classification change request forms.

  • Attend cross-business unit application change request review meetings.

  • Perform testing on proposed system enhancements or changes.

  • Follow-up on status of change requests.

  • Serve as point person to conduct data queries to resolve help desk tickets.

  • Ensure that standards for auditing repositories are available and followed, that data entry standards are available and followed, that error removal standards are available and followed, and repositories are secure.

  • Train stakeholders on product release standards and improvements.

  • Serve as back-up support for Engineering Change Specialist role.

  • Compose engineering change requests to facilitate regulatory and service releases.

  • Research and analyze engineering data to ensure conformity to change management, business, and regulatory standards.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in data migration activities for future product release system implementations.

  • Identify and drive improvements that will make product release data more accurate and reliable.


  • BS degree preferred.

  • CMII certification preferred, but not required.

  • Greenbelt training is a plus, but not required.

  • Three or more years of experience in database and project management related positions.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must think strategically for short and long term considerations; understand the whole picture (i.e., ability to look beyond the engineering view and take into account manufacturing, service, etc.)

  • Must be able to review and assess technical content for correctness and completeness.

  • Must have an understanding of engineering concepts and be able to accurately read engineering drawings.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Lotus Notes.

  • Experience with IMS, Matrix, or Windchill software a plus.

  • Knowledge of configuration management, change management, or product lifecycle management processes and understanding of relational data preferred.

  • Build synergies globally between product release tools and other company processes, tools, and documentation.

  • Ability to develop creative solutions that encourage standardization while allowing entities to meet their business objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
