We are looking for a talented Prototype Technical Associate to join our team specializing in Metal Fabrication for our Prototype Fabrication Department in Stoughton, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Responsible for fabrication processes.

  • Has knowledge of fabrication shop equipment. (shears, drill presses, hydraulic presses, press brake, band saws, power and hand tools)

  • Ability to operate programmable fabrication equipment.

  • Understanding of fabrication equipment for repairing parts and/or fabrication of components.

  • Has understanding of products & mfg in relationship to parts and fixtures being fabricated.

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and rebuilding.

  • Perform routine calibrations.

  • Project management of Prototype requests with minimal supervision.

  • Assist in maintaining necessary level of inventory of operating supplies.

  • Advanced ability to assist engineers in the design of parts and fixtures.

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining of all logs and reports related to the department.

  • Responsible for adherence to safety rules and precautions.

  • Coaching of safety policies, practices and procedures.

  • Assist in monthly and/or annual safety audits.

  • Responsible for maintaining of equipment, housekeeping and 5S practices.

  • Support technical and quality initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the departmental lead

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Intermediate level requiring minimum three years of relevant experience from high education and/or employment in related field.

  • Technical degree from an accredited program or higher is preferred. Mechanical background preferred. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Strong technical skills in a hands on fabrication role

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding (TIG, MIG, resistance), machining equipment knowledge/experience is preferred

  • Proficient at interpreting technical drawings and specifications

  • Proficient computer knowledge/skills

  • Must be willing to work shift - 1st Shift, M - F, 6 AM - 2 PM (Flexible).

  • Pay starting at $48,000/YR, depending upon experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
