We are looking for a talented Electrical and Controls Engineer – Genset to join our team specializing in Electrical Engineering for our Power Systems Business Unit in Shoreview MN and your remote home office.
This product focused position performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Electrical & Electronic Component Specifications & Validation - Provide high quality specifications for components (e.g., electronic control modules, actuators, and sensors). Develop test plans & work with technicians to validate electrical & electronic components meet requirements for function, reliability, codes and standards, safety and cost.
Electrical Circuit Design - Understand the principles of electric circuit theory. Application of this to analyze, integrate & design elements of electrical machines, genset controls, ECMs, sensors, inverters, battery chargers, etc.
Electrical Power Systems – Understand the principles of electrical systems in power generation industry including general theory of operation of rotating electrical machines, single and three phase power, power factor, circuit protection, etc.
Harness & Interconnect Design - Harness and interconnect design involves specification and selection of connectors, wire type & size, routing, EMC performance, tie-down, environmental & protection mechanisms.
Engineering Documentation – Provide direction to designers for electrical component & installation drawing creation & release of design drawings. Includes product documentation such as spec sheets, product configuration, etc.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or higher
5 or more years of industry experience.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
