This is an exciting opportunity in Seymour, IN for a Technical Advisor - Systems and Controls. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.
Applies highly specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks to develop and support activities in the area of electrical & electronics engineering.
Lead large or multiple engineering projects.Performs as the local technical expert for one or more engineering specialties.
Solves complex problems impacting multiple projects.
Communicates with and influences key external stakeholders and business leaders.
Drives and manages system level requirements for projects or programs.
Makes critical program-related decisions. Collaborates with industry peers within their discipline.
Advances the state of the practice for the technical discipline.
Sets strategic direction for a program or technical discipline.
Advises and transfers knowledge of engineering discipline; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.
Advises leaders for resolution of complex business problems.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree in Engineering required
Significant level of relevant work experience required. Ten or more years’ experience in a similar discipline expected.
Lead various systems integration development issues for PSBU in support of various PPT, VPI and CPS projects requiring systems integration support (e.g., prognostics algorithm development, catalyst health management work etc.,)
Lead the development of specific system solutions (e.g., what sensors, algorithms) in support of digital solutions for the PSBU market segments
Lead the team of junior systems integrators in various SI projects and ensure that we develop employees to be able to move into platforms and become SI's for each platform. Specifically, teach younger employees to think in terms of overall systems, use modeling methods and, data analysis (e.g.,, taking the correct data, ensuring quality of data and, designing appropriate DOE’s)
Lead the development of the architectures for the Distributed generation work and, digital solutions (including recommendations on sensors, processing HW and, algorithms)
Champion the milestone driven process (MS1-MS4) for robust algorithm development.
Champion and lead the development of ALD mechanisms (e.g., MEL bench) for the algorithm/architecture development

Salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
