This is an exciting opportunity in Seymour, Indiana for a Drafting Coach. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Current Product Support.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Manages multiple drafting teams within a union environment.
Familiar with national/international drafting standards.
Understanding and application of ASME Y14.5M-2009.
Develops goals and measures within the drafting teams that align with the organizational goal tree and contributes to overall team and business success.
Develops an understanding of each team member's work in order to assist them in meeting customer requirements and in training team members through coaching and direct example.
Conducts all employee performance management activities.
Continuously improves the team's performance and capabilities through a combination of: example, mentoring, coaching, teaching, feedback, and challenging team members.
Supports Drafting Functional Excellence by driving the team toward the PSBU Product Release Future State, participating in Corporate Drafting FE meetings and southern Indiana Drafting Coach meetings, and by leading monthly Seymour Engine Plant Drafting Team FE meetings.
Supports CAD Management environment and integration in the Product Lifecycle Management (Windchill).
Support current production CAD/CDM/Visualization daily request, large upgrade projects (e.g. Creo 4.0) and training.
Awareness of Electrical CAD data from tools such as Creo Schematics, AutoCAD Electrical and Zuken would be beneficial.
Skills and Experience Required:
Product Configuration Management - A person is aware of and can use/apply the skills of Product Configuration. Limited guidance is required to apply it to their role.
Effective Meetings - Understands the basics of effective meetings including setting an agenda, taking care of physical logistics (such as teleconferencing), facilitating discussion, encouraging participation, identifying and tracking action items, and capturing meeting minutes.
Schedule Management - Identification and tracking work tasks, dependencies, and timing for a project. Awareness proficiency plus, experience in schedule management including having developed and maintained a cross-functional schedule. Should have proficiency at one or more schedule management tools. Knows the right level of detail needed to use the tool effectively.
Communication - Written And Verbal - Is able to effectively and clearly communicate in both written and verbal means.
Conflict Management - Demonstrates basic knowledge about conflict management. Moderate support is required to apply the skill effectively in typical work situations.
Experience in a mechanical engineering drafting environment preferred.
High level competency working with Creo Parametric and Windchill PDMLink.
Working knowledge of PLM systems and dependent applications downstream of PLM.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
