Senior Environmental Engineering Manager

Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Environmental Engineering Manager to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Engine Business in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Leads and supervises work cross-functionally, providing technical expertise to improve hazard prevention and risk control measures, non-conformities, corrective, and preventive actions and driving continual improvement within the site(s)

  • Supervises daily health, safety and environmental operations within the site(s) providing support to solve complex technical issues

  • Manages development and implementation of training, skills development and internal communications related to hazard prevention and control for employees within the site(s). Leads development of technical content ensuring it is up to date, controlled and available while adhering to data privacy regulations

  • Drives targets and objectives for the design, implementation and maintenance of complex hazard prevention and control systems to reduce or eliminate potential risk

  • Leads and supervises hazard identification, environmental aspect identification and risk assessment programs to identify risk improvement opportunities and gaps in health, safety and environmental compliance obligations

  • Champions compliance with environmental regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, international organizations including air emissions, wastewater discharges, natural resource consumption, waste generation, spill prevention, reporting, and emergency response

  • Coaches and develops cross-functional teams and/or direct reports based on stakeholder feedback, and observations. Actively seeks opportunities for self-development through professional health, safety, and environmental organizations, as a champion of emerging trends

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree preferred. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Progress toward Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or similar certification preferred OR equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application of Industrial Safety/Environmental standards and implementation of risk controls

  • Be able to champion compliance with environmental regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations including air emissions, wastewater discharges, natural resource consumption, waste generation, spill prevention and reporting, and emergency response

  • Manage, direct, and build partnership that are needed to meet shared objectives

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
