This is an exciting opportunity in Nashville, Tennessee for a Payroll Tax Analyst. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Responsible for preparation of tax returns and executing projects related to the application of tax laws.

  • Prepares basic tax returns and tax reconciliations.

  • Supports tax audits by gathering data and addressing questions.

  • Executes basic projects related to the application of tax law.

  • Analyzes and summarizes tax information which would be used for purposes of preparing federal and state tax returns and federal and state tax provision supporting calculations.

  • Prepares reports supporting positions taken on federal and state tax returns as well as federal and state tax provisions and provides recommendations to tax department leaders.

Financial Regulations Acumen - Evaluates applicable regulations for the financial area of focus, such as tax, banking, pension, local accounting to ensure underlying transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable regulations; explains key requirements and purpose of regulations and implications to the business to inform and educate relevant stakeholders.

Tax Technical Analysis - Leverages various tax technical resources by researching applicable regulations, tax code, and case law to ensure taxes recorded in compliance with regulation.

Tax Based Modeling and Computation - Performs income tax provision computations, tax return calculations and tax modeling taking into account the relevant business facts and assumptions.

Ensures accountability - Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.

Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • Excellent Excel skills - advanced formulas, graphs, pivot tables, vlook-ups, slicers, etc.) required.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage time while delivering results in a dynamic environment. Experience

  • Minimum three to five years of experience in a Payroll Tax Analyst or Payroll Tax Accountant role.

  • Solid experience and expertise in the following:

  • Payroll Tax Filling

  • Payroll Tax Compliance

  • Payroll Tax Reconciliation

  • Federal, State, Local, and School District Tax.

  • Payroll Operations and Jurisdictional Withholding Setups

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting required.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
