Marketing and Product Management Director
We are looking for a talented Marketing & Product Management Director to join our team specializing in marketing, product planning and new product launch for our Filtration business headquartered in Nashville, TN. The role is designated hybrid , and offers a relocation to Nashville, TN.
This role sits at the intersection of what do our customers need, what can we provide them, and how we manage the product portfolio through the full lifecycle to ensure long-term success for them and us. This role will have significant short- and long-term strategic impact on the filtration business, as it covers:
Marketing our product to enhance our brand reputation.
Product pricing which significantly impacts near term profitability and longer-term sales.
Product portfolio management through the lifecycle: What’s added to the portfolio and how it is managed.
Product launches through the program management office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Develop and launch a multi-channel marketing strategy that enhances customer pull and supports the product management goals
Ensure that the marketing mix reflects the current trends and our business needs
Direct a team to ensure successful product launches
Ongoing product management that maximize organizational results
Interpret broad business, market and industry trends to select and develop the right product portfolio
Champions functional excellence: drives process improvements for product introductions and product changes
Collaborates with legal counsel and engineering to understand and promote asset protection trends and tools
Directs market research capabilities to ensure that product management has the tools to thoroughly understand Cummins’ target market and competitors
Defines and adopts, in the target market, a specific stance relative to the competition with the use of market research capabilities
Ensures that the product branding strategy is implemented effectively and leads and supports internal and external communications in relations to the product range
Guides the development, implementation, and measurement of results of product promotions
Coaches and motivates staff, provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Marketing: create and enable both customer pull and push: advertising, promotion, social media strategy, growth strategy, tradeshow & sales collateral strategy
Program Management: execute the product portfolio expansion within the approved business case. VPI (Value package introduction) direct leadership, VPC (Value package change)/product launch process ownership
Product Management: owning the P&L of major product lines throughout their lifecycle. Includes Product Management (fuel, lube, air, coolant & chemicals, etc.), product planning, catalog management, and strategic product alliances
Pricing: pricing strategy, and quote management and approval process, rebate management, price files and price sheets, commercial deal analytics
Global Perspective: taking a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens. Influences multiple regions, with strong market positions in North America, Europe, China, Latin America and South Pacific
Strategic Mindset : seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies
Develops Talent - developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals
Ideal candidate has an engineering background and experience with marketing (B2B or B2C) product launch, customer facing and commercial oversight
Global coordination expertise is needed to ensure the needs of our diverse markets and customers are met
Significant understanding of commercial vehicle market and multi-channel sales approach
College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, Engineering or a related subject required
MBA or equivalent degree highly preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
