This is an exciting opportunity in Nashville, Tennessee for a Benefits Contact Center Representative. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.
The successful candidate will:
Handle all customer calls with the highest level of customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
Research and resolve all customer issues and concerns using desktop resources and subject matter experts.
Communicate accurately all plan rules and provisions.
Document accurately and timely online call notes in a manner that others can understand the nature of the call and actions taken for resolution.
Coach employee on use of external resources.
Return all phone and email customer inquiries within 24 hours.
Research inquiries against Call Guide, SPD’s and other tools/job aids.
Perform related duties as assigned by Benefits Contact Center Manager.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Resolves benefits related inquiries or issues for plan participants at various levels of complexity.
Supports and has in depth knowledge in the administration of employee benefits programs which may include health, disability, welfare, mobility and retirement plans; maintains compliance with plan design and government legislation.
Contributes to organizational compliance with internal and external requirements. May provide input for the design and improved delivery of benefit plans, programs and procedures.
Guides plan participants on benefits processes, investigates issues, and provides problem resolution.
Responds timely to inquiries requiring interpretation of plan documents; provides recommendations to benefit related issues.
Generates required internal and external reports for benefit program administration; supports analysis to evaluate benefit plan and strategy effectiveness and to support required legislative filings.
Maintains benefit records and prepares documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage.
Recommends improvements to administrative processes. Provides superior customer service—respond courteously, accurately and in a timely fashion to benefit questions and requests.
Prepares materials for the delivery of training to employees and Line Human Resources.
Serves as a contact between the external benefits suppliers, employee groups and Line Human Resources.
Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
Compensation and Benefits Administration - Translates Cummins plan design, statutory and tax requirements in the communication and delivery of compensation and benefit programs.
Human Resources Business Process Execution - Manages the execution of Human Resources business processes, seeking efficiency, accuracy, positive business performance outcomes and operational agility; integrates activities across processes as needed; assures compliance with process and legal requirements; effectively balances process requirements and business leader needs.

Minimum two years of relevant experience.
Human Resources or Benefits experience is required.
Computer software proficiency.
Prior experience in a multi-faced customer service environment preferred.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
