This is an exciting opportunity for Accountants – Senior #TN115 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the department’s general ledger.

  • Perform detailed financial analysis of the department’s chart of accounts and financial statements by identifying and analyzing unusual variances.

  • Evaluate business processes to identify risks and internal control gaps using knowledge of Business Process and Internal Control Risk Analysis to develop and implement process improvements.

  • Prepare general ledger entries and account reconciliations.

  • Prepare balance sheet and profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.

  • Evaluate US accounting standards to record transactions in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

  • Complete month-end close process in a timely fashion in compliance with SOx (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and liaise with other manufacturing plants to ensure accurate financial results and proper accounting treatments.

  • Respond to inquiries received from management, internal and external auditors, Sarbanes-Oxley audit group and others regarding financial results, special reporting requests to drive financial performance that aligns to organizational goals and strategies.

  • Review existing internal controls regularly and develop new internal controls as necessary.

  • Leverage internal control framework by assessing internal controls and developing remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks and respond to changing business needs.

  • Use experience with Technical Accounting Assessment to evaluate and research transactions in accordance with accounting regulations to ensure recorded in compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.

  • Analyze current procedures utilizing analytical skills including problem solving, data and information analysis and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures.

  • Utilize Financial Regulations Acumen to evaluate applicable regulations for the financial area of focus, such as tax, banking, pension, local accounting to ensure underlying transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Perform financial analysis and reporting

  • Business Process and Internal Control Risk Analysis

  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • SOx (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)

  • Financial internal controls

  • Technical Accounting Assessment

  • Analytical skills including problem solving, data and information analysis

  • Financial Regulations Acumen

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations Management or related field and 3 years of experience as an Accountant, in Finance, Accounting, Operations Management or related field.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
