We are looking for a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Components Business Segment in our Madison, WI Plant
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.
Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.
Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.
Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.
Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.
Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.
Maintains relationships and coaches key stakeholders
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Project manage and lead cross-functional work team to design and implement new line to meet OEE and safety objectives (i.e., Transformation)
Work hand-in-hand with VPI team to successfully transition and deliver new products and processes to the current product team
Own PFMEAs and continuously drive RPN reduction
Active participant of periodic IATF/ISO audits
Utilize A3, FTA, 5-Whys, Fishbone, 6S tools as main problem-solving tools
Conduct periodic dimensional capability to ensure stability of processes
Assist in the development and optimization of welding processes
Resolve internal and external CARs
Review MCRs and complete tasks in a timely manner
Review VPCRs and provide assembly response form
Utilize HumanTech as main ergonomic assessment tool
Conduct MOC reviews with the committee on all process changes
Support production on a daily basis to ensure smooth operation (equipment availability, quality, throughput, and safety)
On-going learning and certification in Supply Chain Academy, company policies, and other training requirement
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
Equipment/Capital Procurement - Selects manufacturing equipment which meets the Cummins manufacturing specifications and meets the project or program needs.
Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.
Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
College, university, or equivalent degree required

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
