This is an exciting opportunity in Mineral Points, Wisconsin for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist.

Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation

This CI Project Manager is responsible for develop, implement, manage and sustain plant-wide projects and initiatives under Cummins Operations Excellence guidance. Lead and mentor teams to achieve significant and long-lasting improvements

Key Responsibilities:

§ Execute strategies pertaining to the deployment of 10 COS practices in the plant under the guidance of the CI / OE group leader and all FE leaders

§ Assist in the development of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative across the plant and ensure TPM programs are being sustained

§ Identify and define opportunities for Kaizen projects for both shop floor and office operations

§ Identify opportunities to lead 5S initiative in both shop floor and office areas and ensure 5S programs are being sustained

§ Coordinate Value Stream Transformations on multiple lines/areas in the plant targeting PBIT savings/cost reductions

§ Participate in improvement projects in various functions including materials, manufacturing and quality

§ Perform other duties as directed by the CI /OE group leader

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities:

§ Ability to work well with others, as well as individually

§ Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Web based)

§ Knowledge of all departments and manufacturing processes within the plant

§ Working knowledge of Industrial and Lean Manufacturing tools

§ Ability to collect, analyze data and make quantitative decisions

§ Good written and oral communication skills

§ Detail oriented, Ability to follow directions, Flexibility

§ Leadership qualities, Self-motivated, Motivator

§ Basic Problem Analysis Skills

Education & Experience:

§ 1-2 years experience working in a similar position is preferred

§ Have participated in 5S or Kaizen events

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
