This is an exciting opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee for an Accounting Manager. Memphis Distribution Center is the primary site to manage remanufactured products accounting, such as owes & dues, deferral and revenue recognition.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing accounting practices and procedures

  • Manages a team engaged in collecting, recording, analyzing, and reporting accounting transactions

  • Plans, reviews, and/or prepares internal and external reports, schedules, and statements

  • Oversees the account reconciliation process

  • Reviews and monitors financial controls

  • Participates in, and responds to internal audits

  • Provides and interprets data from accounting records as required by management

  • Coordinates accounting services and integrates with operating needs

  • Oversees the management of functions such as property records, general ledger, and general accounting services

  • Coaches and mentors general accounting staff; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports

In addition, this position will need to lead or actively manage the following responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation of new accounting policy, standard or changes therein for the site (e.g., Revenue Recognition Standard change) including engagement with corporate accounting

  • Manage standard cost update, uplift and amortization

  • Lead the inventory count process (cycle-count and annual physical inventory) for the site

  • Warehouse management system (GOMS) close and maintenance support (for month close activities/reports, exchange rate update, accounting calendar maintenance and engagement with the finance system/ IT support for issue resolution)

  • Act as an interface to map the operational requirement with accounting process/controls to ensure financial discipline is maintained and internal controls remains sustainable while meeting the business requirement.

  • Problem Solving And Quality Improvement - Problem Solving and Improvement approaches, including understanding of tools/process type and selection, plus Corrective and Preventive Action processes

  • Strong accounting technical skills including US GAP

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong business acumen, experience mapping business needs into accounting process

  • Expert Excel skills and strong MS office skills

  • ERP Finance experience required, prefer Oracle Finance experience

  • Global manufacturing or distribution experience

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required

  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred


  • 5 – 8 years experience required, including supervisory experience, prefer 10 years experience in a leadership role

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
