This is an exciting opportunity near Myrtle Beach, SC for a Parts Manager.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Manage daily parts operations for the Loris, SCBranch Office to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.

  • Lead efforts within one or more Supply Chainfunctions including materials, production, inventory, logistics, demandmanagement and order fulfillment. Ensures internal and external customers'expectations and requirements are met from end to end in each of the supplychains.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects that alignwith Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leveragecommon processes tools, and information systems.

  • Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives andlead the cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-companyalignment.

  • Mitigate long term supplier constraints bycollaborating with functional stakeholders.

  • Create common supply chain processes andprocedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.

  • Approach daily problem solving and continuousimprovement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performancetargets.

  • Develop, understand and improve necessary KeyPerformance Indicators.

  • Analyze operational trends and developcorrective action plans.

  • Address supply chain failures promptly toensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.

  • Prepare and manage an annual operating planincluding expense resources, and capital.

  • Manage, coach, and develop staff of Nine (9);work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, andcareer planning.

Skills Required:

  • Analytical Reasoning -Has an advanced understanding of analytical methodologies and the ability toutilize various statistical methodologies. Provides recommendations for businessactions based on the conclusions drawn from analysis in a way that ismeaningful to the business partner.

  • Project Management -Capable of effectively managing complex projects with little to no guidance.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge - Completely understands the role of each function in the Supply Chain and howtheir Key Performance Indicators support the needs of end customers. Has been aleader in a number of Supply Chain functions and led cross-functional teams todrive improvements in the Supply Chain.

  • Fosters Open Communication - Demonstrated ability to improve and expand the application of fostering opencommunication at Cummins. Establishes creative ways to obtain input fromothers. Shows outstanding active listening skills that draw out difficult orcontentious information. Chooses the appropriate communication vehicle for thesituation. Articulates a measurable communication strategy within grouporganizations. Creates opportunities for employees at all levels to have andtalk about business and organizational changes, problems and opportunities asthey arise. Is recognized as a highly effective two-way communicator whocreates the right environment for open communication.

  • Analyze Issues -Demonstrated results indicating deep knowledge of analyzing issues. Criticallyidentifies an issue's scope and parameters while analyzing it from multipleperspectives. Determines the root causes as well as broad implications ofissues. Integrates information and defines an array of alternatives. Applies awide variety of analytical tools and processes (e.g. Six Sigma) on a regularbasis to complete key projects and solve complex problems.

  • Establishes Plans -Demonstrated results indicating deep knowledge of establishing plans. Usesstructured tools, processes and systems to plan initiatives and document workclearly. Ensures objectives for projects or initiatives are clearly linked tocorresponding activities for effective execution. Solicits customer feedback toincorporate into planning process. Demonstrates the ability to plan initiativesacross multiple teams/organizations, ensuring goals are consistent and aligned.Identifies critical constraints to executing plans and develops strategies todeal with the constraints. Prepares highly complex estimates of budget, staff,and other resources.

  • Manage Execution -Demonstrated results indicating deep knowledge of managing executionCoordinates performance across regions, teams, and departments on complexprojects and work flows. Applies a broad range of planning and monitoring toolsDefines planning and review practices that result in few missed milestones andminimal surprises. Effectively delegates to ensure completion of complexprojects and work. Monitors progress of others and redirects efforts when goalschange or are not met. Measures effectiveness of execution through definedmetrics and disciplined monitoring.

  • Coach And Develop -Solid understanding of coaching and development skills and tools. Coaches anddevelops direct reports and or project team members on basic performance issuesand development needs. Dedicates appropriate time when coaching and developingothers. Utilizes structured approach and appropriate tools when coaching anddeveloping others. Provides relevant assignments to direct reports that addressindividual development needs.

Required Education, Experience,Licenses or Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalentdegree) in Business Administration or related field is required.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands-onParts/Inventory experience is required.

  • Must have a minimum three (3) yearsof employee management/leadership experience is required.

  • Automotive parts/components purchasingexperience is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary commensurate with experience.
