This is an exciting opportunity in Ladson, South Carolina for a Scheduler Technician.

Key Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing the production schedule and the demand management process.

This role will act as the primary liaison between operations and customer service to ensure a realistic forecast is executed and driven to plan by:

  • Demonstrating an understanding of production scheduling and demand management concepts and applications

  • Understanding of customer needs in relation to process capabilities

  • Demonstrating an understanding and experience in capacity management concepts and application

  • Demonstrating an understanding of statistical measures and analysis concepts and application

  • Demonstrating problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrating strong team ethics and ability to support others in cross-functional role

Qualifications

Skills: Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

  • APICS certified CPIM or other applicable certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of broad experience across key areas of responsibility including production scheduling, materials planning, demand management, supply chain management, forecasting, detailed scheduling, production planning, and order management.

  • Experience in database applications, data mining, statistical data analysis, and report writing skills required.

  • Experience in a fully integrated MRP/ERP environment.

  • Experience in MPS, BOM, inventory control, item master, and MRP management techniques.

  • Overall responsibility for on-time delivery.

  • Work with Engineering Change staff to ensure smooth transition in production plan for any changes.

  • Manage planning in support of new product introductions and changes.

  • Provide updates in the daily production meetings and weekly production planning review meetings.

  • Work closely with supply planners to identify and resolve exceptional changes in the forecast and anticipate their need to communicate changes in the forecast across the supply chain.

  • Identify and monitor short and long term capacity implications with the current demand plan.

  • Pro-actively work with the order management teams to enhance collaborative planning efforts.

  • Provide fact based analysis of customer demand changes to the customer forecast during weekly production planning review meetings.

  • In-depth understanding of relevant demand drivers and how to apply the appropriate forecasting method to predict their impact in the ongoing forecast.

Skills: Functional and Technical

  • Proficient with Office suite of products (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Analyzes customer demand information, forecasts, orders, machine, labor and material availability and develops a production schedule.

  • Analyze and adjust planning parameters to account for shift in product mix.

  • Lead day-to-day resolution of critical issues affecting customer delivery by root cause analysis, help develop workable solutions and assure corrective actions are put into place.

This position requires a minimum of the following ACT WorkKeys scores: Locating Information 4, Applied Math 4, Workplace Observation 3.

Physical Requirements

  • Employees in this position must be able to lift one to forty-five pounds frequently and seventy-five pounds or more infrequently with assistance. Employees must be able to wear hearing protection, interpret information by using visual acuity, hearing and speaking, gross and fine motor skills; work eight hours or more frequently and work rotating shifts. Employee must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
