Description
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Team Lead– Assembly (3nd Shift) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Components Business Segment in Ladson, SC.
Qualified candidates will coordinate the activities of a group of employees in order to meet established production specifications and schedules including volume, cost, wastage targets and quality standards.

Follows all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), poka-yoke and visual standards
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations
Ability to operate simultaneous machining / assembly operations
Ability to understand and use process documentation, standardized work procedures and basic quality control skills
Shift work - may require flexibility to work alternative shifts as business requires
Overtime and Weekend work mandatory as business demand requires

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate activities for a synchronous flow assembly line.
Responsible for effective use of resources
Maintain safety, quality, delivery and production, while identifying areas for improvement and leading implementation of change.
Ability to effectively interact with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and project teams to understand and deliver requirements.
Ability to react quickly to issues and work through conflicting priorities
Lead and guide a team of associates in a fast-paced production environment
Skills, functional and Technical
Assembly background with working knowledge of tooling, failsafing, fastening methods, technical drawings, general repair and preventative maintenance.
Working knowledge of process documentation/work instructions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to diagnose/correct general equipment problems.
Familiar with fastening methods, torqueing, testing, PLC’s, experience with automation a plus.
Familiar with basic component layout, strong understanding of quality processes
Familiar with quality systems, ISO, TS or similar
Working knowledge of SPC, Capability, Gage R&R.
Familiarity with 6 Sigma, lean manufacturing a plus
PC Skills, experience with MS word, Excel, e mail

Proven ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work within all levels in the organization to achieve desired results.
Proven track record of leading teams. Ability to achieve participation with work group members by encouraging cooperation, teamwork, constructive feedback, and utilizing effective conflict management techniques.

Communication, motivational and effective decision-making skills a must.
Possess exceptional attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
Must lift, rotate 90 degrees, and carry metal turbo cores weighing up to 34lb up to 4 feet 40 times per hour.
Must be able to grasp and operate two hoist handles at 78-80” from the ground to load turbochargers into containers.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 6’ parts weighing up to 42lb.
Must be able to press together a two-handed retaining ring tool, 40times/hour
Must be able to insert retaining rings using one-handed retaining ring pliers, 40 times/hour
Must be able to stand/walk for 8-12 hours/shift up to 2 hours consecutively.
Must be able to walk from assembly area to designated fire exits, meetings areas, etc up to 1280 feet.
Must push/pull wheeled carts requiring up to 85lb force

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
