Senior Quality Systems Engineer

We are looking for a talented Senior Quality Systems Engineer to join our team specializing in Quality for our Engine Business Segment in our Jamestown, NY Engine Plant

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Provide recognized expertise in the applicable standards (i.e. ISO 9001, TS 16949, etc) to coach business personnel across the various functional areas.

  • Ensure the organization has implemented the requirements of the current versions of Business Management System standards (i.e., ISO 9001 and TS 16949, the AIAG Core Tools, etc) in a way that supports the achievement of business measures and goal tree objectives.

  • Ensure key business processes are identified and documented at an appropriate level, including those keys to management (for example, Management Review, Internal Audits, Corrective/Preventive Action, and Continuous Improvement), to enable reduction of variation within processes.

  • Ensures products and process development meet quality standards. Identifies problems, prioritizes actions, leads or participates in Six Sigma projects.

  • Participates in change management activities by verifying products and processes, developing key measures, analyzing data for decision support, and presenting results to plant leadership

  • Leads audits of processes and quality systems. Works with purchasing to improve the quality of purchased parts. Serves as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.

  • Must be self-motivated with strong communication and people skills.

  • Quality Process Management - Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.

  • Quality System Management - Guides in the practice and application of quality management system standards required by international certification bodies, industry specific regulatory authorities and customer's contractually specified requirements.

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a Quality role (QE, SQIE, etc)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
