Expectations for the Irvine, CA-based Parts I :

Cummins Sales and Service is looking for an enthusiastic parts professional to support the Irvine Parts Distribution Center (PDC). The parts professional creates customer value by delivering dependable solutions through Customer Support Excellence.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Pull, stage and deliver parts for internal and external stakeholders

  • Receive, store and issue materials, equipment and other items for the PDC

  • Pull items from shelves by correctly completing pick tickets

  • Assemble, address, stamp and ship merchandise

  • Receive, unpack verify and record incoming merchandise

  • Arrange for transportation of products; perform inter-branch deliveries

  • Manage and order packaging materials

  • Assist in receiving stock parts from factory trucks

  • Process receipts, load carts and shelve parts in the assigned bin locations

  • Assist Shipping & Receiving station when needed; sign documents from carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.) for received packages

  • Log incoming packages and distribute to branches

  • Update bin location labels, create and or assign bin location when necessary

  • Assist in cycle count as needed and required as end-of-day process

  • Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, cleaning, straightening shelves and keeping aisles clear

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Proficiency in researching of parts for customers using resources available

  • Ability to look up and sell Recon exchange engines and parts

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate suggestive up-sell opportunities to aid customers in making repair decisions

  • Ability to receive, inspect and credit cores

  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn Cummins' systems

  • Ability to positively react to change in environment, processes and people

  • Demonstrate an ability to engage customers in a courteous and professional manner

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ideally, 6 months to 1 year warehouse experience

  • Forklift certified preferred
