This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana for our Hospitality Group for an Indianapolis Pastry Chef.

The Cummins Pastry Chef elevates and supports Cummins business by providing world class products and services to Cummins guests and leadership. The Pastry Chef must offer solutions and be able to personalize the delivery of services to meet the specific needs of each guest.

Production Responsibilities:

Bread production

Laminated dough

Straight dough

Banquet desserts

Individual dessert

Ice cream


Mill Flour

Savory baked products


  • Sustain a working knowledge of all upcoming services

  • Execution of recipes in accordance with the Food Philosophy

  • Keep current on food trends

  • Attend weekly services meetings

  • Assist in Hospitality dining room services and meeting room services as needed

  • Have knowledge of all Front of House tasks including but not limited to: Bartending, Wine Service, Dining Room Management, Serving, Bussing, Room Sets and Tear Downs and Meeting Room Services

  • Have knowledge of all Back of House tasks including but not limited to: general cooking techniques, savory and sweet ingredients, kitchen roles and positions and kitchen hierarchy

  • Have knowledge and the ability to perform all of Back of House tasks including but not limited to: Ware Washing, FIFO and Off-Site Catering Procedures

  • Have a working and practical knowledge of the cuisine of foreign cultures

  • Have a working and practical knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients

  • Be the Hospitality advocate in relations with Global Integrated Services-Facilities, Security and Aviation

  • Follow the department aesthetic guidelines

  • Have excellent plating skills

  • Working understanding of the elements of Banquet Design

  • Customize experiences to fit unique customers’ needs

  • Provide reports and metrics on pastry costs and consumption

  • Maintain confidentiality pertaining to business matters

  • Maintain understanding of Cummins Hospitality role within Global Integrated Services

  • Be the approachable face for all hospitality needs and concerns for employees

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate commensurate with experience. This position will need a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Hospitality industry.

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside, office environment, dining room, and service environment. Employee may be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events. Employee is required to lift 30lbs.
