Corporate Litigation Paralegal

Description

We are looking for a talented Corporate Litigation Paralegal to join our team for our Corporate legal function based in Indianapolis, IN. This role is designated hybrid and may have the opportunity to work from your home office.

Qualifications in this role include:

  • Strong knowledge of litigation matters and national litigation practice

  • Strong skills in the following areas: organizational, interpersonal, time management, analytical, written, and verbal communications

  • Must be proactive, self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to effectively prioritize a large volume of confidential and time-sensitive work with short deadlines when required

  • Ability to anticipate/calendar upcoming deadlines and communicate to team members

  • Self-starter

  • Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to learn on the job and develop new approaches in a global environment

Qualifications

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Manage and assist with all aspects of litigation, including claim investigation, risk assessment, witness interviews, case budgets, discovery, serve as lead Company representative at mediations, depositions, and other case-related events

  • Liaise with Company business unit representatives, internal and external counsel as needed

  • Organize, maintain, and supervise document collection and work with eDiscovery manager, internal and external counsel as needed

  • Assist with settlement negotiations of claims including preparation of settlement documents and securing settlement funds against appropriate Company budget accounts

  • Work and coordinate with other internal teams to comply with internal and external requirements related to insurance coverage and financial reporting

  • Support and contribute to the development of process improvement with internal teams as needed

Education/Experience:

  • Certified paralegal or bachelor’s degree and required experience

  • 8 years’ experience as a paralegal in law firm or comparable experience in a corporate legal department required

  • Trial experience preferred
