This is an exciting opportunity in Fridley, Minnesota for a Test II (Second Shift.)

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

The Test III performs a series of mechanical and electrical connections, manually or using a variety of hand and air power tools to correctly test and troubleshoot products such as: generator sets, smaller sub-assemblies and harness assemblies by following test specifications. Carries out responsibilities by utilizing test software and equipment.

  • Produces quality work by following defined departmental procedures and/or process documentation.

  • Interacts with customers to identify customer needs and maintains ongoing regular, direct contact with internal and external customers and suppliers.

  • Using blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics tests, troubleshoots and repairs generator sets and complex electrical/electronic systems where extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge is required.

  • Provides assistance to engineering, service or sales departments in solving test problems.

  • Provides customer certification test data as required for shipping release.

  • Rotates through various stages of team production.

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of paralleling systems software; including loading, operating, and modifying.

  • Sets-up generator sets and troubleshoots generator sets.

  • Using instrumentation in the large test cells, or by obtaining special testing instruments, determines reason for system failures and takes corrective action.

  • Participates actively in the identification of ways in which to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

  • Participates in all workplace safety and environmental policies and procedures by wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), keeping work area safe and clean using 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), completing annual safety training, and reporting any risks or hazards.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 year certificate from college or technical school in electronics or related discipline

  • 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment with at least one year being assembly related

  • Experience working directly with customers/suppliers, demonstrating good communication, interpersonal and technical skills to maintain a good working relationship

  • Demonstrate basic computer skills and good understanding of PC-based operating systems

  • Strong organizational skills to manage workload to maximize productivity and efficiency

  • Decision Making/Problem Solving - Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason

  • Teamwork - Willingly cooperates and works collaboratively toward solutions that generally benefit all involved parties and accomplish group objectives.

  • Flexibility Perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change; manage transition effective from task to task; adapt to varying customer needs.

  • Post Offer Employment Test – Assembly Protocol A

  • Ability to obtain Hoist and Crane Certification

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate $26/hour with step progression to $30.45/hour Shift Premium (if applicable.)
