Plant Quality Leader (On-Site)

Description

We are looking for a talented, dynamic Plant Quality Leader to join our team specializing in quality management for our Cummins Power Systems Business Segment . The role is located in the Fridley, Minnesota plant. The role is designated onsite and requires a relocation.

In this role, the Plant Quality Leader will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of the plant Quality System

  • Establishes and maintains quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls

  • Leads the plant Quality function in the achievement of Cummins Operating System improvement objectives for the plant

  • Provides functional leadership for achievement of Annual Operating Plan objectives at the plant

  • Responsible for the quality of products produced and for work stoppages if a problem is discovered affecting the product

  • Determines quality project priorities and allocates resources to accomplish the work

  • Monitors improvement groups such as the Product Quality Council or scrap improvement project teams to ensure that goals are achieved and reported

  • Ensures that quality assessments and audits are conducted in accordance with the plant Quality System

  • Leads post-event reviews to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement

  • Manages Value Package Introduction planning, prevention, and protection completion against manufacturing processes

  • Champions Six Sigma standards and projects in the plant Leads the identification, analysis, and prioritization of potential improvement projects for the plant tracks progress and results of selected projects; leads project completion audit process for the plant

  • Leads the black belt and master black belt selection process; manages these plant resources

  • Responsible for the management and development of the Quality Systems, Product Quality Council, Calibration and Metrology Laboratory, Plant Supplier Quality Improvement, Customer Quality Assurance, and Quality teams at the plant

Quality System Management: guides in the practice and application of quality management system standards required by international certification bodies, industry specific regulatory authorities and customer's contractually specified requirements

Project Resource Management: develops resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended

Global Perspective: taking a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens. Influences multiple regions, with strong emphasis in North America, Europe, China, Latin America, and South Pacific while overseeing global quality and IT systems

Education

  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in engineering, required

  • Deep technical knowledge in cybersecurity engineering functional excellence, required

  • 8-10 years cross business unit experience in a matrix organization, required

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certified highly preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt highly desired

Role Responsibilities

  • Supports the assigned Plant with continuous improvement toward defect-free processes that satisfy customer needs and achieve business results. Responsible for the continuous improvement of the processes, tools, and capabilities of people within the Quality Function

  • Member of the Plant Leadership Team which is responsible for establishing strategic direction for the plant and corresponding milestones (Site Goal Tree, Annual Operating Plan etc.)

  • This role will report to the Plant Manager

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range.
