Description of the Role:
Services, maintains, and/orbuilds mechanical and fluid power systems within the determinedgeographical location.
Performs mechanicalpreventative maintenance using the Maximo system.
Maintains safe work habits andactions in all aspects of the daily task; evaluates reactive work forsafety issues, plans projects so that safety is key, and reviewspreventative work for any unforeseen items that may present safetyhurdles.
Assembles, builds, retrofits,and integrates mechanical and fluid power systems for new machineapplications using Cummins Production Equipment Specifications andapplicable international standards.
Diagnoses mechanical and fluidpower problems and performs repairs and/or modifications throughconsulting blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Collaborates with engineers toinspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnosemachine malfunctions.
Records and reports all faults,deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences; records time and materialexpended on work orders.
Follows manufacturer’srecommended preventative maintenance schedules and startup procedures.
Prepares or follows blueprints;notes modifications to blueprints to document equipment modifications.
Performs precision alignment onproduction or test equipment.
Communicates technicalinformation to customers regarding projects.
Repairs, replaces, andreassembles defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.
Assembles, installs, andrepairs wiring electrical and electronic components, pipe systems andplumbing, and machinery and equipment.
Cleans and lubricates shafts,bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Dismantles devices to gainaccess to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, andpower tools.
Works cross-functionally tomake repairs within one’s capability.
Performs work in a wide varietyof conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture.
Maintains housekeeping and safetyin work areas.
Participates in training andpersonal development; assists in training department personnel andapprentices.
Communicates within theassigned team and with all support teams.
Understands and appliesappropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work.
Knows and complies withdepartmental, site, and company safety policies and procedures includingthe proper wear and use of require personal protective equipment.
Participates in improvementprojects; uses common problem solving techniques while working alone or inteams.
Remains flexible and performsother miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.
Completes work with minimalsupervision.
Rotates job routine as needed.
