Toolmaker Support Specialist - Columbus - 2nd Shift - HOURLY

Maintains safe work habits and actions in all aspects of the daily task; evaluates reactive work for safety issues, plans projects so that safety is key, and reviews
preventative work for any unforeseen items that may present safety hurdles.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) equipment, and grinders to machine
parts to specifications; verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
Performs precision alignment on production or test equipment; creates fixture and clamping equipment.
Fits and assembles parts into assemblies or mechanisms using hand tools; verifies dimensions and alignment using measuring instruments such as
micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock to layout work pieces for machining; fits and assembles parts into assemblies or mechanisms using hand tools.
Prepares or follows blueprints; notes modifications to blueprints to document equipment modifications.
Heat treats tools or parts.
Manages raw material inventories.
Communicates technical information to customers regarding projects.
Identifies machine malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
Analyzes a variety of specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair cutting tools,
jigs, fixtures, gauges or machinists’ hand tools.
Positions and secures parts on surface plat or worktable using devices such as vises, V-blocks, and angle plates.
Operates machine tool controls on equipment and automated machinery to test for malfunctions and to verify repair.
Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Works cross-functionally to make repairs within one’s capability.
Performs work in a wide variety of conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture.
Maintains housekeeping and safety in work areas.
Participates in training and personal development; assists in training department personnel and apprentices.
Communicates within the assigned team and with all support teams.
Understands and applies appropriate company and department rules and guidelines to work.
Knows and complies with departmental, site, and company safety policies and procedures including the proper wear and use of require personal protective
Participates in improvement projects; uses common problem solving techniques while working alone or in teams.
Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.
Completes work with minimal supervision.
Rotates job routine as needed.

Associate’s degree with two-four years of relevant experience OR
Trade certificate with six years of relevant experience OR
Eight years of relevant experience OR
