This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, IN for a Supply Chain IT Project Manager. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Manages, develops, and implements project(s) of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area.
Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.
Leads multiple projects from inception to completion; facilitates project planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each project; works with business stakeholders to establish project performance goals; designs project plan, develops timeline, identifies project milestones, and tracks performance against performance goals and timeline.
Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.
Monitors and communicates project status to project team.
Plans and monitors project budget, conducts research and analysis; provides input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
Manages project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk; works with others on the team and outside the team to identify alternatives or solutions.
Documents and shares team learnings with other teams; draws on other project team experiences to enhance the success of the project.
Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.
Identifies and assigns appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; provides developmental feedback to team members.
Schedule Management - Manages the project schedule using the recommended project management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.
Scope Management - Manages a list of project deliverables (scope) using the recommended project management tools and processes to ensure that the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully.
Project Resource Management - Develops resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively.
Project Issue and Risk Management - Manages the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events.
Business insight - Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals.
Customer focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
Financial acumen - Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree required.
Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.
The Supply Chain IT project manager will be assigned to plan, manage, and execute project(s) of high complexity and size within the Supply Chain Capability (SCC) program.
The IT PM role is focused primarily upon the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for major Supply Chain capability development and deployments through global, functional solutions.
Partners with business stakeholders such as the Business Process Transformation (BPT) team, Business PMs, IT common services, Cummins Business Services (CBS) IT, IT Enterprise PMO, and SDLC to ensure a successful project delivery.
Job specific responsibilities:
Promotes project management fundamentals, processes, and approaches across the global team.
Supports program planning including Simulation and AOP.Assists with program IT Financial ManagementPerforms cross project / program IT resource analysis and supports resource management tasks to ensure sufficient internal and external resources are planned to execute program and project plans supporting both projects as well as roadmap analysis / recommendations.
Provides weekly project status and communication to ERP Program Management Office (PMO) and the IT transform Portfolio PMO.
Execute IT Stakeholder CommunicationsSupport and identify dependences in order to support managing inter-program engagement and complexityCoordinate with CMI IT release schedules and intra program release testingCoordinate Capacity Management (Hardware, IT Personnel, Software)Define (with leadership support) and deliver regular Program Reporting and Metrics
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
