This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a Senior Salesforce Application Architect Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Provides comprehensive application functionality, configuration and support expertise for application software solutions; works with business analysts, architects, technical experts and software vendors on the solution requirements, design, configuration, functionality gap resolution, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of the applications.

  • Leads the analysis and evaluation of application functionality; provides recommendations to increase utilization of standard application functionality to improve business processes and capabilities.

  • Leads the determination and documentation of optimum application setup and configuration to meet functional requirements and specifications; configures and verifies complex application setup and configuration.

  • Remains current on emerging application and solution trends and functionality; provides functional expertise for assigned applications and systems.

  • Leads analysis of potential application solutions, identifying and recommending solutions to address functionality gaps in the application.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with relevant vendors; works with vendors to improve application functionality and resolve difficult functionality issues.

  • Partners with process owners, business analysts, systems analysts and architects to gather, document and review functional, architecture and technical requirements and define application functional designs.

  • Serves as subject matter expert and point of contact on content, processes, procedures and functionality associated with assigned applications for projects and application support (as needed).

  • Leads the creation and management of functional specifications for a given project from which programs and configurations will be applied to create the program, application, or complete solution

  • Educates, coaches, and trains new and existing team members to improve quality and efficiency in daily process of support requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the application Architecture and Design of Salesforce solutions (Service Cloud, Field Service, Scheduling, Knowledge).

  • Provide leadership and guidance to technical and functional team members, including setting best practice guidelines and frameworks.

  • Establish best practice ways of working with client side and partner technical teams.

  • Act as a liaison between Technical team, Functional team, Business Functions, and vendor to drive Field Service implementations.

  • Own the design and architectural outputs from initiation to sign off.

  • Act as an escalation point for technical and design challenges.

  • Review delivered products and work packages to ensure best practice is applied.

  • Use best practice of the ecosystem to recommend solutions best suited to the platform.

Solution Design - Creates and defines the solution design complete with instrumentation and measurement, using Cummins IT processes, standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to synthesize diagrams, models and documentation in order to build a solution that meets buildability, business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.

Solution Functional Fit Analysis - Composes and decomposes a system into its component parts using procedures, tools and work aides for the purpose of studying how well the component parts were designed, purchased and configured to interact holistically to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.

Solution Modeling - Creates, designs and formulates models, diagrams and documentation using Cummins IT processes, standards, tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.

Solution Configuration - Configures, creates and tests a solution for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using Cummins IT processes, standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum five to eight years of experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a team member of successful software project implementations related to Service Cloud and Field Service.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the capacity of a Functional Consultant and/or Solutions Architect.

  • Experience in implementing Field Service Lightning components.

  • Experience in hands on design, prototyping, configurations, testing and other implementation activities.

  • Experience as a Salesforce Architect ideally on Enterprise scale projects, delivering a significant number of solutions with Salesforce products your primary focus.

  • Comfortable leading the implementation of an Architecture with internal teams and partners, plus senior stakeholders within the client.

  • Significant knowledge of key Salesforce products within an Architecture, including: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, App Cloud, Field Service Lightning, Heroku, CPQ.

  • Experience of sourcing AppExchange partner solutions to meet solution requirements, for example: IVR, Knowledge Management, Social Analytics, E-Signatures, Data Validation and Cleansing.

  • Detailed understanding of Salesforce governor limits, and how to work within them when designing an Architecture.

  • Knowledge of Identity Management and how it is used within the Salesforce context, including for users and integrations.

  • Architectural governance processes and practices, including owning artefacts such as decision and assumption logs.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance regulations in relation to Cloud Data hosting.

  • Detailed knowledge of designing declarative solutions within the force.com platform including data sharing, user management, Lightning components, Flow and Process Builder.

  • Integrating to and from the Salesforce platform, plus knowledge of associated best practices and patterns.

  • Building out data models that align with Salesforce standard and custom data objects, and data migration plans to migrate data in to the Salesforce platform.

  • Knowledge of the licensing model in Salesforce, including edition limits and feature licenses.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Experience with ServiceMax, Click Software, or IFS is a plus.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
