This is an exciting opportunity in Shoreview, MN or Columbus, IN for a Senior Associate, Market Research and Planning . Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Supports specific market research, strategic and planning initiatives and tactics within a region, market, customer, or product segment.
Manages market strategy research and planning in support of the strategic planning process.
Conducts basic external and internal operation analysis identifying strategic opportunities, challenges, risk, threats, etc.
Updates market summary dash boards employing relevant market data.
Leverages competitive research and market analysis for assigned market or region to make recommendations.
Communicates and presents critical data, report summaries, market analyses, and strategic recommendations to management.
Works with product managers to support product life cycle, product line business plans, and cost reduction programs.
Provides input to support product line pricing and promotional strategy.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Market Analysis - Deploy local processes to attain the most critical market information required to develop a specific product/product line plan.
Financial Understanding - Analyze data and perform basic calculations such as Gross Margin, NPV, discounting analysis, price elasticity, and breakeven. Able to formulate a business case to support an idea. Familiar with SOX regulations.
Core Competency & Capability Analysis - Assess markets against Cummins capabilities and evaluate gap analysis and quickly turn into recommended actions.
Market Opportunity Prioritization - Understands strategy process, assesses projects against strategic relevance to business and works with stakeholders effectively to align work.
Market Positioning - Understands market positioning tools and applies them.
3 years post graduate experience preferred
Experience in at least one of the following is required: electric energy, green technologies, renewable technology, energy storage or consulting related to one of the industries listed here.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Master of Business Administration required
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
