This is an exciting opportunity for Product Validation Engineer - Technical Specialist #IN689 in Columbus, Indiana.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Apply specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices across various areas and systems in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle.
Create design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service; and prepare P diagram, and boundary diagrams.
Perform Integrated Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (iDFMEA) document to capture failure modes and actions to minimize risk.
Verify design using analysis and/or functional testing, interpret results, drive decisions and assess risk.
Develop and execute a complex Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
Compile, integrate, and plan required verification and validation tasks for several components/subsystems.
Work with other engineering disciplines to resolve product issues.
Communicate design to engineers for releasing componentsthrough cross functional design reviews.
Evaluate customer needs and align requirements with identified customer expectations.
Organize complex cause-fail mode-effect relationships, appropriately identify risk areas and prioritize actions necessary to mitigate risk using 7 Step Problem Solving Process.
Assist with the transfer of knowledge and teach/mentor less experienced engineers in the basics.
Manage engine components design and validation projects includingengine testing, identifying and tracking work tasks, dependencies and timing utilizingSix Sigma Tools and Methodologies including Quality Function Deployment, Critical Parameter Management, Design of Experiments and Design Variation Analysis.
Skills and Experience Required:
P diagram, and boundary diagrams
Integrated Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (iDFMEA)
Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
Project management including engine components design and validation
Cross functional design reviews
7 Step Problem Solving
Six Sigma Tools and Methodologies including Quality Function Deployment, Critical Parameter Management, Design of Experiments and Design Variation Analysis.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Positions require aMaster’s degree in Mechanical, Materials Science or Electrical Engineering, or related fieldandthree years of experience as a Product Validation Engineer, Compliance Engineer, or related position.
Alternatively, the employer will accept aBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials Science or Electrical Engineering, or related field and five years of experience as a Product Validation Engineer, Compliance Engineer or related position.
JOB SITE: Columbus, IN
WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
