We are currently looking for someone who is eager to learn and automate industry best practices to decrease human input in relation to validation. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing automated processes as well as validation of transmission system level components. This job will work with product owners and other developers to design solutions to tough business problems and enhance usability to increase software certification efforts. Vehicle level automation and certification is also in scope.

This is an exciting opportunity based out of Galesburg, MI (Kalamazoo, MI) for a:

Product Systems Validation Engineer

(Hybrid Role) This role is a blend of remote/onsite work, depending on business needs.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Bring new and existing product software to market faster by introducing automation

  • Programming in multiple platforms such as Matlab, IBM, Python, Jenkins, Vector, and other industry leading tools

  • Certify ISO 26262 tool chain for compliance

  • Development of Verification/Qualification deliverables including, but not limited to Requirements Documents, Functional and Design Specifications, test protocols, and summary reports

  • Execution of Test Protocols, including identification and resolution of defects

  • Tracking and managing change control activities for multiple concurrent projects

  • Technical understanding at system, subsystem, and component levels

  • System Automation design, specification, documentation, programming, testing, and commissioning

  • Work internationally with a team of engineers running HiL test stands.

  • Create Test Cases and Test Scripts for validating that system and functional requirements have been met.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 0-3 years, in a relevant discipline area is required.

  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, dSPACE, ETAS, CANape, CANalyzer (A Plus)

  • Knowledge of SAE J1939 Standard (A Plus)

  • Previous automation experience (Hardware-in-the-Loop, etc) (A Plus)

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and deadlines

  • Basic knowledge of mechatronics systems using CAN communications, electrical, mechanical and pneumatics.

  • Technical skills and working knowledge including: Engine operations, Transmission operations, CAN communication, Basic electrical and electronics, Understanding of basic control systems theory

  • Class A commercial driver's license, or willingness to obtain (A Plus)

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or any other relevant disciplines is required.
