This is an exciting opportunity for Product Functional Test Technology Specialist – Engineering #IN737 in Columbus, Indiana
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to review manufacturing tools and processes in order to recommend improvements and compliance with Functional Excellence goals.
Participate in the development of Functional Excellence Assessments and Functional Talent Management processes to enhance success of the project.
Coordinate and monitor improvement projects of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area.
Utilize knowledge of Installation Quality Assurance, Installation Systems – Cooling, and Installation Systems – Electronic to assess data relating to manufacturing tools and processes and make recommendations regarding training, communications, and maintenance of accurate and usable data in functional databases to support Functional Excellence projects and initiatives.
Utilize knowledge of change management processes and tools in order to ensure that communications and processes are clear and accurate for Functional Excellence projection and initiatives.
Conduct functional analysis to identify engineering development needs and process improvements.
Coordinate and monitor engineering improvement projects.
Demonstrate and use COS ten practices and functions, including Six Sigma tools and methodologies including lean, Kaizen, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Cause & Effect, as a method of continuous improvement to support the business.
Operate appointment tracking system to document all communication, meeting notes and action items to manage customer relationships.
Analyze measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science.
Apply Laboratory Equipment Safety techniques to evaluate hazards specific to laboratory test equipment that may result from fuels, kinetic energy, toxins, electrical or other risks in the test environment.
Skills and Experience Required:
Functional Excellence Assessments
Installation Quality Assurance and Installation Systems – Electronic; Change management processes and tools
Identify engineering development needs and process improvements
Six Sigma tools and methodologies including lean, Kaizen, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Cause & Effect
Manage Customer Relationships
Laboratory Equipment Safety techniques
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Laboratory, Operations Engineer or related position. WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
