Mechanical Engineering Associate (Hourly)- Columbus, Indiana
We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Associate to join our team at the Cummins Engine Plant in Columbus, IN with starting pay of $32.00 -$34.50/hour.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
This role requires the employee to be onsite at least 30% of the time in order to help troubleshoot engines for our global team, support teardown reviews and maintain parts inventory.
The role would work very closely with the Product Validation & Design Engineers on the team to reach desired deliverables.
Fuel System experience is a plus, but not necessary.
Builds, repairs, and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Performs tests in accordance with set test methods and works with relevant engineering functions to develop and execute testing. Drives continuous improvement in test setup and testing methods. Aids in analysis of test data.
Works with performance engineers to develop measurement techniques; manages/leads test system and test article issue resolution process; manages system teardown consensus reviews, including data analysis, test and teardown reports.
Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops,leads and participates in improvement projects.
Manages own work and adjusts work priorities in order to meet the demands; participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR
Associates degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR
Relevant military education and experience.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
