This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a Market Research Manager. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Independently managesthe entire primary and secondary market research process with outside vendorsincluding identifying the best vendors, negotiation, definition of projecttimelines and deliverables, interpreting results, writing reports and makingactionable strategic recommendations.

  • Works with internalclients to initiate qualitative and quantitative research to provide insightson customer needs, motivations and purchasing habits to help guide strategicplanning process.

  • Manages a network of over20 competitive secondary intelligence sources, including online resources, databases,external contacts, and vendor partners.

  • Managescontract negotiations, client relationship and training programs. Develop program to regularly provide vendortraining.

  • Researches/evaluatesand makes recommendations for new online subscription information databases andweb resources that are aligned with the company’s strategic goals.Negotiates new and renewal contracts withvendors.

  • Serves as champion,trainer and mentor to equip Cummins team members with tools and techniques to useonline subscription information databases and web resources.

  • Keep abreast ofprimary and secondary market research reports and events and share informationwith key stakeholders.

  • Develops timelines andmetrics to meet all key deadlines and deliverables.

Qualifications

Skills:

Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods in the B2B business environment.

Experienced managing projects, budgets and timelines with primary and secondary research vendors. Directed all components of research projects.

Has a sound knowledge of the key market research companies and how they are evolving. Identifies key trend setters.

Experienced using and managing client relationships with online subscription information databases and web resources such as Factiva, LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ, etc.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build strong working relationships and interacts with all levels of staff with tact and diplomacy.

Process oriented with strong customer focus and project management skills.

Education, Licenses,Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in marketing, sales or a related subject required. MBA or equivalent degree preferred.

Experience:

Working knowledge of transportation industry or other relevant experience.

5 – 10 years of relevant and related work experience required in a research B2B environment.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
