This is an exciting opportunity for Manufacturing Engineers – Seniors #IN988 in Columbus, Indiana

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to determine and improve the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing goals according to engine product specifications.

  • Plan and establish sequence of operations for the fabrication and assembly of parts and products. Conduct work measurement studies and create standard work methods for new and current production lines to establish costs, throughput times, capacity levels and manpower plans.

  • Obtain and calculate data applying line balancing analysis to efficiently deliver products. Identify issues with the engine product and performance and recommend engineering solutions or enhancements.

  • Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.

  • Develop plans and design methods to improve efficiency in production and provide technical guidance to support capital acquisition and capacity planning and change control.

  • Apply knowledge of Controls Engineering in order to specify, review and approve designs for new or upgrades to existing equipment to interface with all levels of manufacturing systems.

  • Define manufacturing standard working methods and will guide testing and installation of equipment as needed to ensure proper performance.

  • Apply statistical methods to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards.

  • Execute cost analyses on make versus buy decisions for component and sub-assemblies. Apply knowledge of Asset Utilization Management to drive business decisions, develop labor utilization standards and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.

  • Provide guidance in meeting technical targets of project within time and budget by applying project management tools and techniques.

  • Identify problems with product and performance and recommend solutions or enhancements utilizing Six Sigma Tools and Methodologies.

  • Conduct risk analysis of the work stations and machines, identify the risk factors, and mitigate the risk by improving the safety and ergonomics of the work stations and machines.

  • Ensure line readiness and workstation design for new products and existing product changes.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Systems or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as an Industrial or Manufacturing Engineer, or related position.

JOB SITE: Columbus, Indiana

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
