We are looking for a talented Digital Product Manager to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, Indiana

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Manages key product line lifecycles.

Understands and interprets market and industry trends.

Leads the marketing initiatives for new product introduction and existing product change introduction.

Develops and provides the long-term product line strategy, forecast, and the annual operating plan.

Develops all aspects of the marketing mix to ensure the successful launch of new products and throughout the subsequent lifecycle.

Ensures that the product branding strategy is implemented effectively, and leads and supports internal and external communications in relations to the product range.

Protects intellectual property of the organization, and works with legal counsel and engineering to ensure asset protection.

Uses market research capabilities to plan for and implements an appropriate approach based on the understanding of Cummins’ target market and competitors.

Defines and adopts, in the target market, a specific stance relative to the competition with the use of market research capabilities.

Drives improvement of customer satisfaction and solves elevated customer issues in relation to product.

Drives management of the product lifecycle; determines when products should be deemed obsolete.

Develops, implements, and measures results of product promotions.

Collaborates with other functions and global locations to ensure global profitability of the product line.

Recommends marketing process changes that will improve Value Package Introduction and Value Package Change processes.

Develops work plans for Product Managers and Associate Product Managers to deliver product line results; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.

Positioning For Target Segments - Aggregates appropriate inputs (e.g. customer perceptions, competitor positioning, alternative product capabilities) and determining where we need or want to compete for business within the target market segment.

Product Life Cycle Management - Identifies and executes changes to the product portfolio in response to evolving market dynamics and customer needs

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical, or a related subject required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Significant relevant work experience required, including supervisory experience.

The Guidanz Dealer/Customer Product Manager is responsible for the launch and life cycle management of developing service products, features, and capabilities to streamline the service experience for our external stakeholders, both Dealers and Customers, in the Guidanz product portfolio.

This product manager is a member of our Guidanz Product Management team and is responsible for defining and managing the integration vision, strategy and roadmap working with Dealers, Distribution and our Customers. The primary responsibilities for this product management fall into these four main areas:

1) Meet business goals of the products to deliver product performance and quality targets, financial performance, and customer satisfaction 2) Get the product built through collaboration with Agile Release Trains and Solution Trains 3) Collaborate with CDO software engineering and business stakeholders to deliver product capabilities to the market 4) Ensure integrated product offerings are supported and enhanced to create a continuous flow of value.

This Product Manager works closely with Dealers and our distribution business stakeholders and customers and is focused on bringing digital capabilities to market that support the overall business units' strategies and objectives. They monitor market feedback and product performance in the market to shape the long-term product portfolio. They have a vision for the future for their capabilities and work with stakeholders to prioritize development consistent with the product vision and platform priorities. They develop and monitor performance and usage metrics to influence product direction. They leverage Pragmatic Marketing principles and Scaled Agile(SAFe) practices in the application of lean product management and design thinking principles.

Guidanz Product Managers manage a broad array of stakeholders and user personas with a keen outside-in focus on their product's priorities, identifying, validating and prioritizing product features to meet business objectives, customer objectives and partner objectives.

  • Ability to effectively communicate highly technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and effectively communicate market and user requirements to technical stakeholders

  • Good and timely decision making that keeps the organization moving forward

  • Knowledge and practical experience with software product lifecycle management

  • Knowledge and practical experience working in an Agile environment with Design Thinking/Human Centered Design methodologies is preferred
