Executive Director, Enterprise Data Management

We have established an Enterprise Data Management Office with the goal of managing and governing data as a critical business asset. We are focused on ensuring quality data is readily available to allow value delivery through analytics use cases while also ensuring privacy and compliance in the rapidly changing global landscape.

We are seeking an experienced leader for our Enterprise Data Management team whose scope will include the areas of master data management, metadata and cataloging, data quality and compliance and data governance including policy creation covering data access and retention.

  • Serve as executive leader for all enterprise data management, partnering with executive leadership across functions to advise and facilitate critical data decision

  • Establish processes and governance that enable rapid data access that leads to value creation, without sacrificing appropriate access controls

  • Establish quality standards for critical data and ensure compliance across the organization

  • Partner with legal, IT, function and business teams to establish and maintain data policies that enable analytics us -cases and ensure legal and ethical compliance

  • Define data management operational processes (e.g., data quality measurement) in accordance with policies and standards, clearly articulating roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a roadmap for tools and processes to effectively manage critical data across the enterprise

  • Monitor and measure compliance to data standards

  • Stay ahead of data governance best practices and adapt to emerging technologies and policies and continuously improve the data governance strategy

  • Provide necessary communication, education and training across the organization on data policies, standards and processes

  • Partners with business executives to identify short and long-term program plans; develops and maintains strong relationships across the organization.

  • Drives the establishment of objectives, plans, standards, risk identification, and policies ensuring successful implementation of all phases of program management for a major business enterprise; determines project timelines; oversees analysis, program design, budget, communication, and integration; approves business workflow and program design.

  • Directs the assessment of Project Manager capabilities and available program budgets. Keeps business leadership apprised of program status and developments; monitors project success measures and understands the status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Formulates annual operational and financial budgets as they relate to unit objectives.

  • Develops, leads, and motivates project management staff; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Plays a consultative role focusing on projects which have significant and aggressive future growth potential and involve advanced technology and concepts


  • 7 years of experience with data management standards and practices, and leading data governance programs

  • 10 years in management/leadership role(s)

  • Strong leadership experience working across business units and functions, with an ability to lead through influence

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and change management skills

  • Experience leading large programs

  • Experience in performance management

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross functional teams of business, IT and other key stakeholders

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.

  • Green Belt certification required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base annual salary commensurate with experience plus annual variable compensation. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
