This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, Indiana for a Chemist or Chemical Engineer.

Skills and Experience Required:
2-5 years of relevant work experience required
Requiresinvolvement on multidisciplinary teams to promote materials engineeringknowledge to new engine programs.
Requires project-based work on engine fluidstesting related to various registration processes.
Supports corporatefluids lab in non-routine investigations and project-based efforts.

Appliesbasic knowledge of chemistry and its related industrial processes inconjunction with engineering principles and practices to identify and advancesolutions for design, manufacturing and quality problems.
Works with crossfunctional teams on projects that require material selection, failure analysis,material characterization, interpretation and writing of specifications,product quality inspections, material process quality audits, material processdevelopment, production process validation and material property data.
Recognizes and promotes the application of beneficial emerging materials andmaterials processing technology.
Uses prescribed and innovative methods, and works withlimited guidance.
Participates as a team member and actively contributestowards team goals.
Carries out partially defined and moderately complex tasks.
Demonstrates and applies good understanding and knowledge of chemistry tosupport lines of business.
Applies chemistry skills and knowledge and continuesto develop experience in creating engineering solutions.
LaboratoryTest Technology – Chemical - The chemist shall be generally knowledgeable about chemical lab test technology and test methods and knowledge of and familiarity with instrumental analyses to the extent that for partially defined, moderately complex problems, they are able to write relevant lab work plans, correctly interpret the data and report the results to customers with limited guidance.
FailureAnalysis – Chemical - The chemist shall be generally knowledgeable about failure analysis, to the extent that for partially defined, moderately complex problems, they are able to initiate root cause data gathering and develop corrective actions with limited guidance. Also, the chemist shall have a working knowledge of different analytical and instrumental techniques that can be used to develop failure analysis skills.
MaterialCharacterization Techniques – Chemical - The chemist shall be generally knowledgeable in characterizing materials/substances based upon of analysis techniques such as spectroscopy and chromatography, elemental analyses and classic wet-bench techniques as relevant to a specific subdiscipline such as petroleum, polymer, or organic chemistry.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
- Bachelor of Science (or equivalent degree) in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
