We are looking for a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our team specializing in Controls Engineering for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN / your remote home office. Ability to travel to office at least once per month.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Directly interfaces with the customers to gather requirements and works with internal teams in development of controls systems

  • Applies and improves electronic application and systems development processes and tools. Processes include system specification, modelling and simulation, calibration, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and troubleshooting.

  • Drives optimal controls designs by considering microcontroller-software interface specifications

  • Obtains input and negotiates with product and software development teams and delivers control system designs, verified and calibrated software features and builds to product teams.

  • Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site.

  • Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechnanical, Automotive, Controls, Systems, Industrial, Civil Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

  • Knowledge in embedded software development tools such as Matlab, Simulink, C and microcontroller basics.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
