This is an exciting opportunity for Electronics Engineer Technical Specialist #IN742 in Columbus, Indiana

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Apply specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices to develop and support electronics.

  • Provide technical direction for project to project team. Develop electronic controls specifications and design electronic control systems and components.

  • Analyze and simulate electronic capabilities and implement and generate supporting software.

  • Verify and validate controls hardware and software in order to tune, release, and troubleshoot controls.

  • Utilize Analog Circuit Analysis and Digital Circuit Analysis skills to design and develop control of actuator driver, power supply, signal conditioning, analog sensors, and system power bus.

  • Resolve control functional and performance issues using analysis, simulation, and testing.

  • Interpret and apply Harness and Interconnect Design to determine specifications for designing digital electronic controls.

  • Specify and validate requirements for electronic control interfaces using mechanical and performance understanding of how electronic components respond to operational conditions and environment.

  • Validate and tune electronic controls based specifications.

  • Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) in development of controls.

  • Ensure control systems meet engineering standards for Electronic Control Module (ECM), actuators and sensors in line with Electronic Component Specifications.

  • Ensure customer and component issues are addressed during development of control systems.

  • Utilize diagnosis tools including root cause analysis and 5 Why to diagnose and assess air handling system and component performance against their respective specifications.

  • Troubleshoot diagnostic problems and make control changes utilizing algorithms, calibrate algorithms using tuning guide, and perform testing.

  • Manipulate characteristics of electrical control system to prevent damage during normal operation and potential failure modes.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Design electronic control systems and components

  • Implement and generate supporting software

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Positions require aMaster’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related fieldand 1 year of experience as an Electrical, Controls, Design or Software Engineer or related position .Alternatively, the employer will accept aBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as an Electrical, Controls, Design or Software Engineer or related position.

JOB SITE: Columbus, Indiana

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
