This is an exciting opportunity in Columbus, IN for an ELECTRIFICATION - Technical Project Leader (RV Project). Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Your impact willhappen in these and other ways:

  • Applies highly specialized knowledge of engineeringprinciples and practices to assigned areas and projects in the design,development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through theproduct life cycle.

  • Creates design specifications considering application,cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service.

  • Verifies design using analysis and or functional testing, interprets results,drives decisions and assesses risk.

  • Works with other engineering disciplinesand cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues. Evaluates customerneeds and aligns requirements with identified customer expectations. May fillthe role of an assistant chief engineer, product readiness leader or projectengineering leader.

  • Leads large or multiple engineering projects.

  • Performs as the local technical expert for one ormore engineering specialties.

  • Solves complex problems impacting multipleprojects.

  • Communicates with and influences key externalstakeholders and business leaders.

  • Drives and manages system level requirements forprojects or programs.

  • Makes critical program-related decisions.

  • Collaborates with industry peers within theirdiscipline.

  • Advances the state of the practice for thetechnical discipline.

  • Sets strategic direction for a program ortechnical discipline.

  • Advises and transfers knowledge of engineeringdiscipline; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.

  • Advises leaders for resolution of complex businessproblems.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Substantial relevant work experiencerequired, including leadership of small projects or portions of large projects.

  • NOTE: This is NOT VPIproject leadership. This is for prototype vehicle/system leadership.

  • The successful candidate mustbe innovative and have the ability to work with a high level ofprecision, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detailoriented, and not afraid to re-define tradition.

  • Must have demonstrated 5 years ofTechnical Project Leadership experience.

  • Battery and System Integrationexperience a plus.

  • Desirable tohave demonstrated technical knowledge of electric powertrain and vehicletechnologies

RequiredEducation, Licenses or Certifications:

PhD, Masters of Science, Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering required.

Compensationand Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
