Purchasing Clerk

Description

Works independently to perform a variety of duties such as the maintenance of updated purchase records

Create, updates, and maintains projects in Purchasing-relevant databases (i.e. SharePoint, Ariba).

Contacts suppliers to maintain pertinent data, obtain needed documentation, and enable suppliers in purchasing systems.

Completes recording activities for various contracts and other supplier documentation.

Proactively works delivering results in meeting cost, quality, delivery, and inventory goals.

Liaises between purchasing teams and other functions.

Proactively contributes in health safety and environmental awareness and improvement activities and daily tasks.

Participates in project teams, when necessary, to ensure effective implementation of change.

Understands and follows purchasing processes to complete tasks.

Perform any other tasks assigned.

Supports preparing documentation for sourcing events.

Works with the team to manage project deliverables within agreed timelines. Global or multi-region focus may be required.

Purchasing Policies, Procedures, Tools - Understands all of the relevant purchasing policies and procedures and complies with them in daily work; Masters all tools required to conduct procurement work. Knows how to access documents in the appropriate Document Management System (DMS) and/or who to ask if clarification or expansion of the information contained in each document is needed.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. College or equivalent degree preferred.

Written communication skills in English, preferred.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.

Experience using Microsoft office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.

  • Scheduling background and past experience needed to coordinate limited production schedules for internal build plans.

  • Coordinate daily build plan priorities, activities for prototype/ limited production orders to program completion.

  • On site coordination daily with prototype, tool room, and machine build personnel.

  • Oversee order document processing for shipments. (shippers, inventory tracking)

  • Purchase components from external vendors and sources.

  • Ariba experience a plus.

  • Order materials from external vendors and sources. (Ariba database and other means)

  • Follow up skills with internal customers and suppliers

  • Proven track record of supplier relationship development

  • Excel skills a must

  • Must have experience with MS Project software

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly pay range for this position is $25 - $32/hr.
