We are looking for a talented Accounting Manager to join our team specializing in Accounting Managing for our BUSINESS SEGMENT Hartford CT your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways

  • Responsible for performing and/or overseeing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the department’s general ledger. Is also in-charge of resolving complex accounting issues resulting from routine and non-routine accounting transactions.

  • Manages a team of accountants and/or a complex process that interacts with multiple individuals outside of the department.

  • Ensures the timely recording, analyzing and reporting of accounting transactions.

  • Reviews general ledger entries, account reconciliations, internal and external reports, schedules and statements.

  • Responds to inquiries received from management, internal and external auditors, Sarbanes-Oxley audit group and others regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.

  • Reviews existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary.

  • Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.

  • Implements new accounting standards.

  • Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

  • Financial Analysis - Interprets financial data by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement; evaluates financial results against targets to communicate conclusions to all stakeholders; ensures integrity of financial data by investigating variances and determining corrective actions to resolve identified issues.

  • Financial Internal Controls - Leverages internal control framework by assessing internal controls and developing remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks and respond to changing business needs.

  • Financial Regulations Acumen - Evaluates applicable regulations for the financial area of focus, such as tax, banking, pension, local accounting to ensure underlying transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable regulations; explains key requirements and purpose of regulations and implications to the business to inform and educate relevant stakeholders.

  • Financial Reporting - Analyzes financial data by evaluating results and solutions to support business decisions; prepares and presents financial information by summarizing data to communicate results in compliance with regulations and stakeholder expectations; partners with stakeholders to drive financial performance that aligns to organizational goals and strategies.US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - Evaluates US accounting standards to record transactions in compliance with requirements and company policies; assesses the accounting requirements and objectives to determine the implications on the business and communicate to stakeholders with varying financial knowledge.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required.

Experience

  • Significant experience required, including supervisory experience.

  • Reviews existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary.

  • Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures. Must have

  • Manufacturing Plant and Complex Accounting experience. Knowledge and experience of Finance systems and tools – Oracle,Bolt, JDE, Planful, HFM.

  • Hybrid – preferred to be in plant for 3-4 days in a week.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $100,000.00- $150,000.00. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
