Description

We are looking for a talented HSE Director Southern Operationsto join our team. This role is remote within United States.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Implements and sustains a positive health, safety, and environmental culture through the application of the management systems framework in a highly complex sites within the designated geographical region.

  • Leads programs, policies and assessments and monitoring performance to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards.

  • Builds strong relationships across functions to ensure the organization understands and are accountable for their roles and responsibilities and are committed to driving a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.

  • Ensures employees are consulted and given the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Directs daily health, safety and environmental operations within the sites providing subject matter expertise on complex issues, including but not limited to health, safety and environmental compliance, capital and resource management, risk reduction, incident investigation, management of change, contractor safety, emergency preparedness and response, pollution prevention and environmental sustainability.

  • Drives improvement to health, safety and environmental performance metrics using a risk-based and data-driven approach.

  • Coaches and develops direct reports and cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback, observations and succession plan needs.

  • Actively seeks opportunities for self-development through professional health, safety and environmental organizations or similar forums as a champion of emerging trends.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental required.

  • Minimum10 years of experience in a similar role with minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple sites and teams.

  • Strong experience in management of health, safety, and environmental ISO Standards required.

  • Solid understanding in environmental due diligence and associated risks and liabilities.

  • Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

  • Strategic mindset - Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.

  • Develops talent - Developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

“Annual Compensation Range: $124,000-166,000$

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
