Senior Talent Management Specialist

Description

Leads the delivery of one or more talent management processes or initiatives within an organization, function or geographic location in alignment with the company’s common global talent management strategies, policies and processes.

Responsible for the deployment of one or more talent processes which may include talent planning, acquisition, development and assessment; competency and skill management; or employee engagement, on boarding and retention.

Participates on cross-organizational projects teams to design, improve and implement effective talent management processes; may lead specified initiatives.

Uses key performance indicators to conduct analyses of current and proposed talent management initiatives and processes; prepares recommended solutions and analyzes conclusions for management review.

Collaborates with human resources and talent leaders to ensure talent processes meet the current and future needs of the function and organization; provides input to global talent management teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Coaches human resource resources on talent management processes.

Builds and maintains effective partnerships with business, functional, regional and corporate Human Resources organizations.

May coach and mentor less experienced talent management specialists.

Qualifications

Skills

Analytical Reasoning – Has an advanced understanding of analytical methodologies and the ability to utilize various statistical methodologies. Provides recommendations for business actions based on the conclusions drawn from analysis in a way that is meaningful to the business partner.

Project management – Capable of effectively managing complex projects with little to no guidance.

Communication – Significant experience in written and verbal communication and should be capable of communicating effectively to all levels within and outside the company.

Organizational Development – Possesses knowledge of common Organizational Development theories and tools. Utilizes approaches to increase organizational performance, such as benchmarking, scorecards, quality management, and team-based work systems.

Performance Management – Has a good understanding of organizational values and goals, translates them into performance standards and applies and leads others through this process.

Succession Planning – Understands and has applied the tools and processes of succession planning and management. Has a clear understanding of the differences between workforce planning, replacement planning and succession planning and management and their application within the workforce.

Organizational Change Management – Possesses a basic understanding of Change Management Principles.

Organizational Change Management – Possesses an understanding of Change Management Principles and knows when and how to apply them in different contexts.

Employment Law – Has a good understanding of employment laws that frequently impact the workplace. Has experience making appropriate decisions and consultation with an expert in the field.

Workforce Planning – Possesses basic knowledge of workforce planning approaches.

Staffing – Has a solid understanding of existing selection tools and effectively demonstrates the use of these tools in the staffing process.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business or related field required.

Experience

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

  • This position supports the North America Distribution, Central Region. NAD Central spans 9 U.S. states from North Dakota to Illinois and consists of approximately 1200 employees.

  • In addition to corporate processes, support the development and roll out of region specific Talent Management initiatives.

  • Assist with reporting & analysis or other HR FE / HR OpEx related work.

  • White Bear Lake, MN location preferred. Open to consideration of alternative locations.
