Summary

The Parts Representatives sells and services customer parts orders through sales, invoicing and product delivery. He or she interfaces with the customer for all branch retail over the counter and/or through the shop parts business. Works closely with the warehouse and other branch departments to ensure customer’s parts needs are met. Promotes the sales of products and actively up-sells where the opportunity exists. The candidate must provide a professional, customer-oriented approach to our clients.

Responsibilities

Promote sales of Cummins, ReCon, DRC, FLG, Onan and Allied products and other parts that are available for sale by the branch.

Promptly and accurately handle customer inquiries and parts orders, both in person and via telephone.

Function effectively as a member of the Parts Department team to improve overall branch productivity.

Assist Parts and Service Managers with administrative functions.

Provide excellent customer service to our customers, vendors, and employees.

Order parts for emergency requirements.

Receive, store and prepare parts for customer pickup as needed.

Maintain current, detailed working knowledge of Cummins, DRC, FLG, Onan, and Allied parts, and other products that are available for sale from the branch.

Effectively use Cummins computer systems (i.e., BMS) for parts, inventory, and service related functions.

Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision.

Safely operates a forklift.

Adhere to all safety procedures and practices and helps ensure safety of others.

Complete all required training.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Have a working knowledge of Cummins, DRC, FLG, Onan, and Allied parts, and other products that are available for sale at the branch; and a working capability of all parts look up and parts applications for these products.

Excellent computer skills including MS Office products and the ability to learn and effectively use Cummins software systems.

Ability to operate basic office equipment (telephone system, printer, fax, copier, etc.).

Ability to operate a fork lift.

Ability to work independently, be accountable and work with little to no supervision.

Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.

Excellent oral and written communications.

Strong administrative skills.

Legible handwriting.

Must possess a current valid Driver license and have a clean driving record. (If driving for the Company must be 21 years of age.)

Basic mathematical ability.

Must adhere to safety policies and procedures.
