This is an exciting opportunity in Rocky Mount, North Carolina for a Manufacturing Engineer: Paint.

Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems

Product Validation.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Assists with the planning, design, purchase, and/or implementation of integrated manufacturing, assembly or fabrication processes in a manufacturing plant.

  • Helps determine the manufacturing processes required to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.

  • Works with engineering to identify problems with product and performance; may recommend solutions or enhancements.

  • Assists with plans and designs methods to improve efficiency in production.

  • Work to improve equipment availability and capability by utilizing continuous improvement tools and working cross functionally.

  • Define manufacturing standard working methods.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.

  • Monitor and provide technical guidance to the Paint Production Team including paint usage tracking, implementation of new equipment, quality and corrosion protection activities, production and material trials, problem solving activities, various cross functional or tasks force teams, etc.

  • Knowledge of liquid coatings technology – Knowledge of application technologies and methods for applying liquid coatings.

  • Basic knowledge and competencies of pretreatment technologies, application hardware and methodologies, transfer efficiency and paint booth design and filtration methods.

  • Knows how to review paint application defects or issues, define root cause and implement corrective actions to ensure issue do not repeat.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical or scientific field required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience .
