This is an exciting opportunity in Memphis, TN for a Supply Chain Leader

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Lead RMP Materials team of over 20people (professional and hourly).

  • Meet or exceed our Key PerformanceIndicators (MUV, Replacement Factors Customer Fill Rates, Inventory Dollars,Inventory Turns, Backorder Dollars, etc.)

  • Work closely with Materialsorganization to drive continuous improvement work and implement joint processesand procedures.

  • Ensure strong day-to-day materialsteam performance.

  • Maintain talented, high-performing,and flexible materials team.

  • Help develop and execute the annualoperating plan (AOP) for the plant, specifically inventory management metrics,delivery, and budget.

  • Ensure focus is customer deliverywhile managing to competing stakeholder metrics of working capital,operations/logistics cost, and headcount.

  • Work cross functionally with PlantOperations on: Salvage, Materials Flowand Assembly.


  • Analytical Reasoning - Has anadvanced understanding of analytical methodologies and the ability to utilizevarious statistical methodologies. Provides recommendations for businessactions based on the conclusions drawn from analysis in a way that ismeaningful to the business partner.

  • Project Management - Capable ofeffectively managing complex projects with little to no guidance.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge - Completelyunderstands the role of each function in the Supply Chain and how their KeyPerformance Indicators support the needs of end customers. Has been a leader ina number of Supply Chain functions and led cross-functional teams to drive improvementsin the Supply Chain.

  • Fosters Open Communication -Demonstrated ability to improve and expand the application of fostering opencommunication at Cummins. Establishes creative ways to obtain input fromothers. Shows outstanding active listening skills that draw out difficult orcontentious information. Chooses the appropriate communication vehicle for thesituation. Articulates a measurable communication strategy within grouporganizations. Creates opportunities for employees at all levels to have andtalk about business and organizational changes, problems and opportunities asthey arise.   • Analyze Issues - Demonstratedresults indicating deep knowledge of analyzing issues. Critically identifies anissue's scope and parameters while analyzing it from multiple perspectives.Determines the root causes as well as broad implications of issues. Integratesinformation and defines an array of alternatives. Applies a wide variety ofanalytical tools and processes (e.g. Six Sigma) on a regular basis to completekey projects and solve complex problems.

  • Establishes Plans - Demonstratedresults indicating deep knowledge of establishing plans. Uses structured tools,processes and systems to plan initiatives and document work clearly. Ensuresobjectives for projects or initiatives are clearly linked to correspondingactivities for effective execution. Solicits customer feedback to incorporateinto planning process. Demonstrates the ability to plan initiatives acrossmultiple teams/organizations, ensuring goals are consistent and aligned.Identifies critical constraints to executing plans and develops strategies todeal with the constraints. Prepares highly complex estimates of budget, staff,and other resources.

  • Manage Execution - Demonstratedresults indicating deep knowledge of managing execution Coordinates performanceacross regions, teams, and departments on complex projects and work flows.Applies a broad range of planning and monitoring tools Defines planning andreview practices that result in few missed milestones and minimal surprises.Effectively delegates to ensure completion of complex projects and work.Monitors progress of others and redirects efforts when goals change or are notmet. Measures effectiveness of execution through defined metrics anddisciplined monitoring.

  • Coach And Develop - Solidunderstanding of coaching and development skills and tools. Coaches anddevelops direct reports and or project team members on basic performance issuesand development needs. Dedicates appropriate time when coaching and developingothers. Utilizes structured approach and appropriate tools when coaching anddeveloping others. Provides relevant assignments to direct reports that addressindividual development needs.

Required Education, Experience, Licenses or Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,Business, Supply Chain or related field is required.

  • Minimum seven (7) years of overall SupplyChain experience

  • Minimum five (5) years managing alarge Supply Chain team for Global Manufacturing Company is required.

  • Automotive or heavy equipmentindustry is highly preferred

  • Management in a Recon Facility is abig plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary commensurate with experience.
