Cummins Inc. Staff Accountant in Irvine, California
Responsible for reconciliation and adjustment of various general ledger accounts. Prepares related financial reports and statements.
Compiles, consolidates, and conducts basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
Assists with the production of monthly and annual financial statements and reports. Makes accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.
Assists with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities. Examines a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with accounting standards.
Prepares tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports.
May perform less complex accounting projects or participate as a team member on more complex projects.
Review Profit and Loss statements during close and perform variance analysis
Perform expense and margin analysis to identify possible GL coding errors or accruals needed
Collaborate with Internal Controls to strengthen or initiate required internal controls measures
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations
Assist with job documentation for accounting processes
Preparation of California Sales Tax returns
Demonstrate understanding of US GAAP and internal controls compliance.
Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, Hlookup, Sumif, Pivot Tables)
Demonstrate process improvement mindset
Demonstrate focused attention to detail in financial environment
Ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment
Demonstrate ability to be flexible and prioritize work plans
